Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Your 1st day of 7 days Uganda wildlife safari begins with a delicious breakfast and later, head  to Kibale National Park through the Kampala-Mubende-Fort Portal route which is about 5-6 hours’ drive. Kibale Forest National Park offers refuge to 13 primate species and this includes over 1500 chimpanzees, L’Hoest monkeys, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, red colobus monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and others. This park also hosts about 350 bird species as well as, 250 tree species, 60 species of mammals and many butterflies. Dine and spend a night at Primate Lodge/Kyaninga lodge/Ndali lodge (luxury), Chimpanzee Forest Guest (Midrange) or Kibale Forest Camp (Basic).

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk in Bigodi wetland

After an early morning breakfast, you will move to the park headquarters. You will be briefed on the set rules and regulations that you have to observe while on chimpanzee tracking. Briefing is always done at Kanyanchu visitor center. This adventure also comes with amazing sights at varied primate species including L’Hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, grey cheeked mangabeys, red tailed monkeys, bush babies as well as several bird species including the yellow spotted nicators. After lunch, you have a guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary that rewards travel endeavors with astonishing sights at great blue turaco and primates like black and white colobus monkeys, baboons among others.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then embark on a 3 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This pristine savanna grassland park is a home to 4 of the big 5 game (African bush elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions) many antelopes and birds. You will have lunch and later, embark on an afternoon game drive which will reward you with amazing wildlife sights.

Dine and spend a night at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Kyambura Gorge (Midrange) or Bush Lodge (Budget).

Day 4: Game drive and launch cruise

Your  day begins with a delicious cup of tea or coffee and later, you have a game drive via Kasenyi plains. A game drive along this sector gets you the best sights at wildlife species such as elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, lions, leopards, birds that make up a total of 620 avifaunal species. Drive back to the lodge after your 2 to 3 hours’ game drive for you to have lunch and a relax then in the afternoon, you have a launch cruise along Kazinga channel. While on a boat cruise, you will have enjoyable views of basking crocodiles, hippos, birds for instance pelicans, kingfishers, saddle billed stork and others.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast, embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector that gets sights of the unique tree climbing lions. En-route, have lunch at Savanna resort and then proceed to Bwindi. Accommodation options: Chameleon Hill Lodge/Silverback lodge/Mahogany Springs Lodge (Luxury), Gorilla Mist camp (Midrange) or Buhoma community rest camp (Budget)

 Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable natioal Park

Have enjoyable breakfast and later, head to the park visitors centre for briefing on rules and regulations for gorilla trekking in any of the 4 trailheads (Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga) of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will be allocated one habituated family to track in a group of 8 visitors and a park ranger guide to take you through your adventure. This may take you about 4-8 hours but this may also depend on your hiking speed, nature of habitat and location of mountain gorillas. You have an hour to have a face to face encounter with them, take as many photos as possible and explore their behaviors. Have your energy giving snacks and enough drinking water to keep you energized. After the 1 hour, get back to the lodge for you to have enjoyable lunch and then you embark on community walk in Batwa community that gets you the best of cultural and traditional dances, music among others.

Day 7: Transfer to Kampala

Get up early enough to enjoy breakfast and after, embark on a return journey to Kampala. Have lunch at Igongo cultural center and photo shoot at equator then proceed to Kampala/Entebbe.
