Birding is the best way to explore and get to know the different bird species. Uganda is one of the best birding sites in Africa, this 7 days birding safari will take you to UWEC formerly known as the zoo, Mabamba swamps, Lake Mburo National Park, and Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 1: Birding at the Shores of Lake Victoria

Wake up for breakfast and our driver guide will take you around the shores of Lake Victoria. This will give u an opportunity to see a variety of bird species like the Short Toed Snake Eagle, Violet backed Starlings, Black Cuckoo Shrike, Red Shouldered Cuckoo Shrike, Yellow bill, Brown Twin spot and many more. After, you will proceed to Botanical gardens Beach for lunch and leisure. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Birding at UWEC

This is formerly known as the zoo, it hosts over 170 bird species for example the rare Northern Masked Weaver, Golden Backed, and Black Necked and Red bellied crested shrike flycatcher and other animal species like the small banded snake eagle, the African fish to mention but a few.  You will dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 3: Birding in Mabamba Swamps

Wake up very early, have your breakfast and then head to Mabamba Swamps in is western Entebbe.  It is one of the best and convenient places to see the shoebill. It also includes Squacco, African water Rail, Long Toed Plovers among others. You will drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, our guide will transfer from Kampala and in just 4 hours you will be at Lake Mburo National Park. You will start watching birds at the entrance gate of Nshara, here you will be able to see the Emerald spotted wood Dove, Bare Faced Go-away bird among others. You will have dinner and overnight at your reserved hotel.

Day 5: Game drive in Lake Mburo National park

After breakfast you will have a game drive around the park and you will be able to see different bird species like the Black Bellied Bustard, coqui francolin among others while you look out to different animal species. After, you will be driven back to your respective hotel for overnight and dinner.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, our guide will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You arrive in time most appropriate time for a game drive and this will give an opportunity to see a variety of bird species especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana. Dinner and overnight will be at your reserved lodge.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast, you will visit Igongo Cultural Center and after you will proceed to Kampala. While on your way, you will have a stopover at the Equator for photography as a remembrance that you once stood in the two hemispheres at the same. The journey will take about 6-7 hours for you to get at the airport for your next flight.
